Alberta Nordic Cup
Welcome to the Pembina Nordic Ski Club
The Course …
The course isn’t 100% determined yet, but will likely follow the perimeter of the Pembina Nordic trail system – starting and finishing at the Pembina Nordic chalet. You can expect wide, relatively smooth trails, with lots of room for passing. The trails roll through boreal forest, with frequent views of the North Saskatchewan River valley, and that valley gives us plenty of vertical to work with. Between laps (for those doing a team event), you can expect a fun, sociable atmosphere in the start/finish area.
Registration & Fees …
$60 per racer – solo or team category. So if you’re racing as a team of 2, that’s $60 per racer. Registration will close at 6pm, Friday, Sept. 19. There will be no race-day registration. Fees are non-refundable. Visit www.zone4.ca to register.
All participants must have either a current ABA / UCI license, or a Single Event License that can be purchased when you register on Zone 4 (at a price of $10).

Cancellation Policy …
It is unlikely that weather or trail conditions would cause us to cancel the event. In the event of a decision to cancel the event, we will not refund entries. Any funds raised through this event will be used to support construction of new single track at Pembina Nordic.
Prizes and Awards …
Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers in each category
The course will be open for “official” pre-ride and inspection on Friday at 4pm, and early Saturday morning before the start. Feel free to come out to Pembina Nordic earlier in the summer to check it out. We’ll have a course map posted at the chalet, and all trail junctions are signed.
All racers must sign on between 8:30 and 9:30 on Saturday morning in order to race. Sign-on will close at 9:30 – no exceptions. Licensed racers must have their license with them at sign-on.
Number Plates …
You will receive an Eagle Point Cross number plate when you sign on. You do not need your ABA number plate.
Food and Water …
Post-race food and beverages will be provided to all racers, but you need to bring your own race supplies. We may be offering food for purchase on-site – stay tuned closer to race day for mor information.
Bikes and Equipment …
Cyclocross bikes or mountain bikes are permitted for this event. All your equipment needs to be in good, safe working condition and you must wear an approved bike helmet at all times.
Mechanical / Feed Zone …
There will be a designated feed zone and mechanical zone in the stadium area near the start / finish. Racers are responsible for their own mechanical work and feed zone assistance.
To encourage participation from out-of-area racers, we will have an area near the start finish available for overnight camping on Friday night. Individual campfires won’t be permitted, but there is a large community firepit for everyone to share, and there is a wood stove in the club chalet. If you’d rather bring your RV and camp, we recommend booking a site at Willey West Campground in Eagle Point Provincial Park.
